Barbara started pitching horseshoes in 1985 in backyard tournaments. She then joined the NHPA in 1989 and won her first state women's championship in 1990. During the 1990's she served as head of the Junior Program and is currently a member of the SCHPA Awards Committee.

Barbara along with her husband Ron have been active supporters of Horseshoe Pitching in South Carolina for many years and in 2005 became horseshoe distributors. Barbara can be found tending the Pork's Shoe Shack tent at many major tournaments in the region. Family and friends are very important to Barbara.

• 11 time South Carolina state Women's Champion
• B Class winner in the Ringer Classic - Greenville, OH
• Twice B Class winner in the Carolina Dogwood Festival tournament - Statesville, NC
• Presidential Award 1992
• Pitched in World Tournaments in South Dakota, New York and Ohio during the 1990's
• Elected to the South Carolina Horseshoe Pitchers Association Hall of Fame in 1996

Her most memorable experience so far in horseshoe pitching was pitching against Lois Webster at the Greenville, OH, Ringer Classic in 1993.
