Art Tyson started pitching organized horseshoes around 1969 and has been a highly visible supporter of the sport. During much of his career he was one of the elite pitchers in the sport until taking a few years away from horseshoe pitching. During that time he remained active in sports by taking up Bocce.

Now he is on the comeback trail with his sights set high. His goal is to be the first black man to win the World Championship.
