Adelene started pitching in 2003. Son (Shannon) and husband (Herbert) has been a big influence. They really give me advice and support, even today. She gives them credit for her getting to where she is today in horseshoes.

Her most memorable experience in horseshoes is when Adelene and son Shannon both won the championship class of their respective divisions, 30' and 40', and the Summer Fun 2004 held in Newberry, SC. Also finishing 10th at her first World Tournament in 2008 and pitching a 90% game.

Her advice to new horseshoe pitchers is to keep practicing and stay focused on your game. Never ever give up on yourself.
